Self Restraint

Self-control is always seen as something which gives strength. In recent times Gandhi had made it very popular.
Is self-control necessary to live our life?
What makes us different from murderers, thieves and other anti-social people. They have the same range of emotions and desires like us.We have anger, violence, love, greed and jealousy which are the basis of our life.Or is the logic which drives this is.... "As long as you don’t get caught you are not a thief."
We all suffer from sudden outburst of anger and we all have emotions which can actually result in unfavourable consequences.Underneath all the civilized human set-up we are still wired to hunt and kill.May be now because we are so good at hiding our emotions with action/adventure movies,we seemed to forget that .Sometimes the voice in our heads, reaches outside and we are thrown into an asylum.

I might say , love is d only basic emotion. Anger, violence, jealousy and greed are not as spontaneous and as acceptable as love. Arousal of these feelings is a sign of lesser self-control.
